ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT

The aspects of environmental conditions and issues are introduced in this module. It focuses on both the positive and negative effects of human involvement on the environment, as well as the link between buildings and the natural system. Basic environmental awareness will be introduced to the us in this module. Furthermore, the module teaches us the fundamental elements of climate and their effects on architecture, as well as assisting us in developing ecologically sensitive and pleasant building designs.
A big thank you to the lecturers and the tutors, all of the patience they had during class, I really appreciate it a lot, and I also learned a lot from you all.
Project 1
In this assignment, we have to choose and do some researches on a topic in relation to “What is Sustainable Architecture?” The topic chosen can be historical, present, or prospective, it can be data-centric, analytical, fictional, critical, or conceptual.
Project 2
In this assignment, we have to identify passive design strategies for Daylighting, to analyze the effect of comfort factors in a person and in a space relating to Lighting. Besides we also have to identify architectural idea/concept, how the ambiance is created, sustainability features of this lighting system. We also have to be able to criticize design of the space in terms of thermal comfort by referring to appropriate standards such as ASHRAE, MS1525 , UBBL and GBI.
